New
Year's Message, 1 January 2012
And we have the
prophetic word
made more sure, you will do well to pay attention to this as to a lamp
shining
in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your
hearts.
2 Peter

Many people are
losing in these days hope for a good future. The political and economic
prospects are
not
very good. Dark clouds are gathering over the world. Are you in such a
mood at
the beginning of 2012? Then, please, take a few minutes to read this
message
and think a few moments about it. Your reaction could change your mood
and
personal future.
But, in spite of the gloomy
prospects though, many have
still hope for a better future. They hope for a world in which each
person receives the
respect that he as a
human being deserves. The important question however is if we are able
to make
this world a better and safe place to live. Frankly speaking, I don't
think we
can - not without humbly admitting that we fail continually and that a
mysterious power of evil is present in our midst. I think it is high
time to
admit that we are dependent upon a higher authority, the authority of
the Lord,
above us and His wisdom. God, our Creator-Father, wants us indeed to
have the
world we hope for. But then we should obey Him and turn with all our
heart to
His Son Jesus Christ, who paid the price for reconciliation with the
Most High
God and whose wisdom, power and love are unequalled.
This is the great hope that I cherish. it is based on the prophetic word to which 2 Peter 3:10-13 refers: Jesus Christ will one day return and make a new world in which man can live in social and religious order, with righteousness and without sin. King Jesus Christ will through His glorious Word empowered by the Holy Spirit, dispel the powers of evil and chaos and create this new world. Then we will finally learn how to safely manage society, the planet and our lives and use wisely all the means at our disposal. I believe with all my heart that this hope will be realized, for God has promised it in His prophetic word. Each day of 2012 will bring the realisation of this hope closer to you and me, to all of us. Don't your agree with me? It is surely a wonderful future to look forward to in 2012!

Ons
vertrouwen in de woorden van de profeten is
daardoor alleen maar toegenomen. U doet er goed aan uw aandacht daarop
gericht
te houden, als op een lamp die in een donkere ruimte schijnt, totdat de
dag
aanbreekt en de morgenster opgaat in uw hart.

In deze dagen verliezen veel mensen alle hoop voor een
goede toekomst. De politieke en economische vooruitzichten zijn niet
bijzonder
goed. Donkere wolken pakken zich samen over de wereld. Ben jij in zulk
een stemming
aan het begin van 2012? Neem dan alsjeblieft enkele minuten om deze
boodschap te
lezen en
erover na te denken. Je reactie kan je stemming en persoonlijke
toekomst
veranderen.
Ondanks wat ik schreef hiervoor zijn er toch nog veel
mensen die wel hoop houden voor een goede toekomst met een wereld
waarin elk
mens het respect zal ontvangen dat hij als mens verdient. De
belangrijke vraag
is echter of we zelf in staat zijn zo’n toekomst te maken. Eerlijk gezegd, ik denk niet dat dit ons zal
lukken, ook al spannen we allen ons ervoor in. Er zullen ongetwijfeld
onverwachte
rampen en ontwikkelingen plaatsvinden. Bovendien zijn er krachten die
wij niet
onder controle kunnen krijgen, zoals de mysterieuze kracht van het
kwaad dat
sinds mensenheugenis onder ons werkzaam is. Ik denk dat het de hoogste
tijd is
dat wij toegeven afhankelijk te zijn van een hogere macht, de macht van
de Here
God boven ons en zijn goddelijke wijsheid. God, onze Schepper en Vader,
wil ons
echt de wereld geven, waarvoor we hopen. Een wereld die veilig, vredig
en
rechtvaardig is, maar dan zullen wij wel naar Hem moeten leren
luisteren en met
ons gehele hart moeten keren tot zijn Zoon Jezus Christus die het offer
voor
verzoening met Hem heeft gebracht en wiens wijsheid, kracht en liefde
ongeëvenaard zijn.
Hier is dan de
grote hoop ik
koester, hij is gebaseerd op het profetische woord, waar 2 Petrus
3:10-13 in de
Bijbel naar verwijst: Jezus Christus zal terugkeren en een nieuwe
wereld met
sociale en godsdienstige orde and rechtvaardigheid maken. Koning Jezus
zal door
middel van zijn heerlijk, onderwijzend Woord, bekrachtigd door
de Heilige Geest de machten van het kwade en de chaos
verdrijven. Hij zal wijsheid en kennis terugbrengen in het beheer van
de
samenleving, de planeet en ons eigen leven. Hij zal ons leren de
middelen die ons ter
beschikking staan, op een verantwoorde wijze te gebruiken. Ik geloof
met mijn
gehele hart dat deze hoop bewaarheid zal worden, want God heeft dit in
zijn
profetisch woord beloofd. Elke dag van 2012 zal de realisering van deze
hoop
voor ons allen,voor jou en mij,dichterbij brengen. Ben je het met
me eens? Het is een wonderbare toekomst om naar uit te zien in 2012!
